We are pleased to introduce the upcoming Mini-Symposium on Vortex Generators for Boundary Layer Control, which will be held on the 23rd and 24th October 2017 at the Science Centre in Delft, the Netherlands.

With continued interest in Vortex Generator (VG) research in wind energy applications and other fields of science and engineering, aspects of these control devices have undergone steady improvements in recent years. We have identified the opportunity to bring together experts from industry and academia from relevant sectors to discuss ideas and upcoming challenges, with a particular focus on new empirical findings, models and design methodologies. With this goal in mind, we would like to invite you to submit an abstract (max. one doubled-sided A4) on any of the following sub-topics. Preference will be given to recent work and ongoing efforts related to VGs:

  • New experimental findings/model implications
  • Optimization results and methodologies
  • Improvements in numerical modeling
  • Model development

An additional goal of the symposium is to produce a roadmap of the state of the art together with interested participants and with the help of the contributions to this symposium.
